TAMKO and Kansas City Chiefs Announce Operation Rooftop Winner

TAMKO Operation Rooftop Winner - Garron Abernathy

TAMKO Building Products, Proud Partner of the Kansas City Chiefs, announces the winner of Operation Rooftop. Retired Marine Corps veteran Garron Abernathy, from Blue Springs, Missouri, has been selected as this year’s winner of Operation Rooftop, receiving a NEW roof featuring TAMKO’s premium Titan XT® shingles.

Operation Rooftop combines the winning spirit of the four-time world champion Kansas City Chiefs with TAMKO’s top-quality American manufacturing. It aims to honor the selfless dedication and sacrifices made by U.S. service members by providing the winner long-lasting roof protection with high-performance premium roofing from TAMKO featuring Titan XT® shingles, renowned for their high wind warranty of up to 160 MPH and Class 3 impact rating, and recently voted 2024 Product of the Year by 40,000 consumers, highlighting the TAMKO brand’s quality and consumer trust.

"I am beyond grateful to TAMKO and the Kansas City Chiefs for this incredible gift," said Garron Abernathy. "As a Marine Corps veteran, knowing that my home will be safe and secure with this new roof means everything to me and my family."

Garron served two deployments in Iraq, where he was a Motor Vehicle Operator and later led a tire shop operation, ensuring the safety of his unit’s vehicles. He is now a Class A Hazmat Fuel Truck Driver and lives in a home purchased with his VA loan, where he and his fiancée of seven years raise their blended family.

After experiencing roof issues last year, Garron and his fiancée were saving up for repairs. The new roof installation comes as a blessing, providing peace of mind for their family home. Garron expresses gratitude to the Chiefs and TAMKO for their support, emphasizing the importance of veterans taking care of one another and appreciating the community’s recognition of their service.

“I'm incredibly grateful to the Chiefs and TAMKO,” Garron added. “As veterans, we're wired to take care of one another, and it means so much to see that same care reflected back from the community. It's a powerful reminder that our service is appreciated, and having that recognition is something I'll never take for granted.”
