What makes a product cool?
There are two key factors that can contribute to a product’s “coolness”—its ability to reflect heat (reflectance) and its ability to shed heat (emittance). Lamarite Slate Cool Colors earn their rating by meeting or exceeding Energy Star program requirements for 25% solar reflectivity, similar to TAMKO’s MetalWorks Cool Color Steel Shingles.

By reflecting more of the sun’s heat, Lamarite Slate Cool Color Shingles help to reduce the amount of energy needed to cool the inside of the house—which in turn helps to provide lower utility bills for the homeowner.

Lamarite Slate Cool Color Shingles are available by special order in 5-, 7- and 12-inch widths. They are also available as Starter and Hip & Ridge shingles. The durable shingles are listed for UL Class A fire resistance, Class 4 impact resistance and come with a 50-year limited warranty.
