TAMKO’S LAMARITE SLATE COMPOSITE SHINGLES
NOW OFFERED IN COOL COLORS

Rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council

JOPLIN, Mo. – January 20, 2009 – In response to customers’ request for more energy efficient products, TAMKO Building Products, Inc. has developed Cool Colors for its Lamarite Slate Composite Shingles. Lamarite Slate Cool Color Composite Shingles are rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) – a testament to the energy savings that can be achieved.

The new Lamarite Slate Composite Shingle Cool Colors are Terra Cotta, Pale Olive, Cool Grey, Natural Sand and Almond Shell. Each Lamarite Slate Cool Color meets or exceeds Energy Star Program Requirements for 25 percent solar reflectivity, similar to TAMKO’s MetalWorks Cool Color Steel Shingles.

“With the growing trend toward energy efficient products, ‘Cool’ product options are important,” said Stephen McNally, vice president of sales and marketing for TAMKO. “Lamarite Slate Cool Colors combine beautiful aesthetics with impressive performance and energy efficiency, which is the total package in roofing product options.”

Lamarite Slate Cool Color Shingles are available by special order in 5-, 7- and 12-inch widths and are listed for UL Class A fire resistance, Class 4 impact resistance and come with a 50-year limited warranty. Lamarite Slate Cool Color Shingles will also be available in Starter and Hip and Ridge. Lamarite Slate is an attractive, durable alternative to slate roofing products and is ideal for residential and commercial roofing applications.
